The Story

Juniper: Juniperus communis (L.)

Why juniper berries? A versatile fruit from an evergreen shrub in the cupressaceae family, juniper berries are useful in a number of wellness applications. The berries were once used as a spice and substitute for pepper and were roasted as a coffee substitute. Juniper berries can be crushed and added to stews or marinades. They are a pleasant addition to sauerkraut. Five or six berries are plenty for the average meal.

Quality Assured: Our certified organic juniper berries are responsibly sourced from Croatia. This herb is Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth and grown without the use of genetic engineering, artificial fertilizers, or pesticides.
