Wild Yam Root Organic

Wild Yam: Dioscorea villosa (L.)

About Wild Yam: Do not confuse wild yam (D. villosa) with the cultivated garden yam, a very different species known as Oxalis tuberose. Wild yam is a climbing plant that supports itself by twining around the branches of other plants. The plants produce tubercles (small tubers that are formed in the leaf axils of the stems), and can be propagated by this means.

Quality Assured: Our certified organic wild yam root is sustainably sourced from the United States. This herb is Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth and grown without the use of genetic engineering, artificial fertilizers, or pesticides. Our experts here at the Apothecary Shoppe personally evaluate every herb through taste, touch, and smell to assure that you are receiving the best botanicals suitable for use.
