Spearmint: Mentha spicata (L.)
Why Spearmint? Made famous as a spicy and fresh flavor for gum and mints, spearmint does so much more than freshen bad breath. Spearmint can be used in a number of culinary preparations: potatoes, green peas, mint sauce, fruit salads, and even punches.
Quality Assured: Our certified organic spearmint is responsibly sourced in the U.S.A. This herb is Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth and grown without the use of genetic engineering, artificial fertilizers, or pesticides. Our experts here at the Apothecary Shoppe personally evaluate every herb through taste, touch, and smell to assure that you are receiving the best botanicals suitable for use.
Benefits: Spearmint, while popular in the culinary dishes, is a wonderful support to a healthy body. It is known to support healthy cell integrity in healthy adults as well as balance blood glucose and lipid levels already in the normal range.* Spearmint is also excellent when used to mask the taste of other less palatable herbs.
Cautions and Contraindications: Spearmint is classed as generally safe when used appropriately.
