The Story

Name: Thymus vulgaris (L.)

Why thyme?  Thyme has been used to “fumigate” or “clear the air” since antiquity, when it was used as incense. Thyme's intense, elegant aroma is still popular in diffusions because the oil imparts a stimulating and fresh herbal aroma. It can also help support a healthy respiratory system (especially the chest), which makes it a desirable addition to inhalations. It also supports healthy immune function.

Quality Assured: Our certified organic thyme essential oil is responsibly sourced from Egypt. The essential oil is steam or water distilled from the leaves and tops. Every batch of oil is Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth and produced without the use of genetic engineering, artificial fertilizers, or pesticides. Additionally, our expert aromatherapists here at the Apothecary Shoppe personally assess all of our oils—using touch, taste, smell, and lab analyses—to ensure that your essential oil is suitable for clinical use and entirely free of adulterants.
