Lime: Citrus aurantifolia
Lime Expressed oil is cultivated and all-natural.
Characteristics:
Lime essential oil is “cold-pressed” from the peel of the unripe fruit or steam distilled from the whole ripe fruit.
Cold-pressed lime essential oil has a true-to-nature fresh, sweet aroma; the aroma of the steam-distilled oil has a sweeter, more distinct aroma reminiscent of lime used in food products.
The sweet and the sour lime produce oils with different characteristics. Sweet lime oil is not as common and resembles bergamot oil
Perfumery:
Expressed lime is more commonly used in cosmetics and perfumery for its distinct aroma. Lime blends well with other citrus oils, particularly lemon, and can be used to cleanse, refresh, or purify the air.
Oils That Blend Well With Lime:
Lime blends well with bergamot, clary sage, citronella, lavender, lemongrass, neroli, and rosemary.
