Aloe Vera Gel
By popular demand we are now carrying aloe vera gel, in addition to our aloe vera oil. Aloe Vera has softening, healing, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Its moisturizing ability is its most widely recognized characteristics. Aloe vera penetrates the skin, supplying moisture directly to the tissue.
Aloe Vera Wound Ointment
2 oz. Jojoba oil
1/2 oz beeswax
.25 oz. Cocoa butter
1.5-2 oz. Aloe vera
60 drops essential oil
Yield: about 4.5 oz.
Melt the beeswax and cocoa butter in double broiler. When the mixture becomes clear, add the jojoba and heat it to 140 F. Heat the aloe separately to 140 F. Take both mixtures form the heat and slowly add the aloe to the fat mixture while stirring constantly. Allow to cool until it reaches skin temperature, add the essential oil synergy and stir again. Place in container and store in the refrigerator.
Note that the consistency of the ointment can be determined by the amount of aloe vera added. More than 1/12 ounces of aloe will make the ointment thin and easy to spread.
What a nice carrier for a solid perfume!!! One would add the essential oils of choice the same as the synergy added for the healing values of the healing ointment.
